Fairy-like hummingbirds flitter by, a sloth hangs out in the trees, the sound of the river soothes the soul…situated by banks of the Quebrada Cuencha in the cloud forest of Monteverde, Río Shanti is a magical place.
Río Shanti is a combination boutique, spa and yoga center. It is inspired by a love of art, health, wholeness and happiness.
At Río Shanti feel free to browse arts and crafts from all over Costa Rica and beyond, enjoy a relaxing massage, partake in a variety of yoga classes or just hang out and enjoy the garden and surrounding forest.
Río Shanti is housed in the oldest structure in Monteverde, a Quaker home known locally as the Boehm house. Since its construction in 1949, it has been a residence, a tea room, the offices of the Monteverde Institute and the Community Art Center before opening in 2007 as Río Shanti.We have endeavored to preserve much of this essence and history while converting the site into a center for wholeness, health and arts for both the local community and visitors to Monteverde.
